Dear Students,

We have some good news!  My brother Patrick, an Airman in the Air Force, has sent us a letter that he wanted me to share with you!  Here it is!

Love,

Mrs. Harris

Hello to All!

How’s going down there? I’m currently up in Bellevue, Nebraska. That is just south of Omaha if you can find that on a map. I heard about the blog and i decided to write you guys a message. How is my sister doing as your teacher? Does she still have those two bowls with all of the marbles in them? The ones where she moves the marbles from one bowl to another depending on whether yall are good or bad? Well whenever I come to yalls school I usually put a handful in the good one for yall. I hope you guys are having a good year so far. I may get to see you guys in late September, we will see about that when it gets here. Well I hope yall get this message and stay out of trouble!

Write Me Back so we can stay in touch!

What is Sunrise?

August 22nd, 2007 by mrsharris in Uncategorized · No Comments

I am sure that many of you have heard your children talk about
Sunrise.  Every morning, your child completes a Sunrise Morning Activity.  In this activity, they correct sentences, make new words, use their imagination to create their own sentences, solve puzzles, and they practice writing verbs correctly.  Every Friday (or at the end of every week), your child will have a test on the concepts of that week’s sunrise.  Sunrise will be taken as a Language Arts Grade.  If you have any questions about Sunrise please do not hesitate to ask!

My First Blog…

August 17th, 2007 by mrsharris in Uncategorized · 5 Comments

Hello everyone!  Welcome to my blog.  My name is Emily Harris and I have been teaching 3rd grade for 4 years.  I have always thought of myself as technology savy but lately have found myself wanting to learn and participate in more activities to integrate in my classroom as well as my own personal growth as a teacher.  I am very excited to share my classroom ideas with others, communicate with my students’ parents, and introduce my students to the vast world of technology.  Hold on world….get ready…..Here I am!

PS:  Thanks so my friend, former student-parent, and co-worker, Kitty Forbus for inspiring me to expand my thinking and try something new!
